Mental Health Investigation

Mental Health Investigation

International Certified Forensic Investigators (ICFI)

Mental Health Investigation is a specialized professional programme designed to develop knowledge and investigative skills for examining incidents, allegations, safeguarding concerns, and other matters in which mental health and psychological factors may be relevant.

The programme provides investigators with a structured, ethical, evidence-based approach to conducting sensitive investigations involving individuals who may be experiencing mental health difficulties or psychological distress. It emphasizes that investigators should not attempt to diagnose mental health conditions unless they are appropriately qualified and authorized to do so.

Participants learn how to gather and assess information, conduct trauma-informed and appropriate interviews, preserve evidence, evaluate records, identify safeguarding concerns, document findings, and work effectively with mental health professionals, healthcare organizations, law-enforcement agencies, employers, families, and other relevant stakeholders.
